Release notes for Source Catchments 2.0.1

These release notes pertain to version 2.0.1 public release of Source Catchments. These notes describe known limitations that are currently prioritised for future development work and these enhancements will be available in future versions. These issues are listed here as a first reference point for users to know when to seek assistance for a known “work around” from the Source Catchments project team. The Source Catchments User Guide and Forum can be other sources of information.

Should you come across other issues that you believe require our attention, please report all issues using the automated error reporting tool (if displayed) or by sending an email to support@ewater.org.au (see the “providing feedback on software bugs” section in chapter 1 of the Source Catchments User Guide for more details).
  • For rainfall-runoff, constituent, filter or link parameter assignment: When parameter sets are applied to models the parameter sets data is saved, but not the parameter sets. Therefore, when closing a project parameter sets are no longer visible in the “Parameter set” drop down menu and will need to be re-created.
  • Some known issues with the Graph tool
    • No right click functionality – functional only assessable from the toolbar
    • External data files can only be dragged and dropped through the graph window header, rather then the graph window itself
    • Cannot drag and drop from graph window to Data Calculator, Data Unit Converter or the RAP tools (plugins)
    • Cannot set log scales on new graph form when data has zero values
    • Cannot manually adjust the min or max of secondary y axis; only provides option to change primary y axis
    • When displaying more then one time series on a graph, changing graph type (i.e., from line to cumulative) resets all series colours to the same colour
  • When adding a node or link model to an existing project, the new model does not automatically record constituents.
  • There is no automatic way to differentiate between multiple node models of the same type on a single node in the Node Model Parameterisation step or in the project explorer
  • When adding a storage to a link, the Project explorer displays as a node model
  • Cannot rename sub-catchments in project hierarchy and consequently selecting the sub-catchment does not highlight in geographic view
  • Clicking column headers to sort columns does not work or in some cases causes an error
  • There is flickering of project name in Project Explorer and the Save prompt hangs when closing (and saving) a very large project. This does not affect the project, but could be misconstrued as the software is crashing
  • There is a problem with a third-party software (called SharpZipLib) in the way that it handles zipping files that have no data (of 0 size). The zipping step was malfunctioning under these conditions and throwing a "crc was XXXX (some number), but I expected YYYY (some number)" error. We have implemented a solution to handle the original error within Source Catchments and provide a meaningful message and instructions on how to salvage the project by manually zipping the contents of the temp file that Source Catchments temporarily "saves" data to. The original error still needs to be dealt with via consultation with the third-party software developers. The error does not occur very frequently, so we believe few users will be affected
  • Wizard DEM based network generation: assignment of "values" when loading a node file for output locations does not transfer those values through as the names of the nodes in the project explorer. Therefore, the nodes are reverted to the default "Generated node name #" rather than the "value" that they should have been assigned from the source file. An error is also displayed when trying to run the scenario. It is recommended to select the “Labels” option when importing a node file
  • The Riparian Particulate filter model and Fixed Concentration node model have been disabled due to issues with saving of parameters and mapping problems with the database of the software
  • The Minimum Flow Requirements and Time Series Orders node model has an error associated with preventing a project from saving. Removing the node model does not enable the project to be saved. Consider using the Monthly Demand node model in place of a Time Series Orders node model for regulated water extraction from a storage
  • Cancel functionality for links and node model assignment does not revert any changes made to the window
  • The e2 CommandLine version of Source Catchments is not functioning
