Overview

This dataset provides estimates of hydrological and geomorphic properties of Victorian Rivers derived as part of the CRC Catchment Hydrology River Restoration Research Program for investigating Hydraulic Geometry relations. The properties were selected for their potential as predictors of channel morphologic and hydraulic metrics. However, they will have other applications in river research and management. The data set is comprehensive, covering all rivers in Victoria with catchment area greater than approx. 10 km2. The river network is represented by 43,000 links with an average length of 2.1 km. Most properties are calculated for all links in the network. Properties include various discharge statistics, reach slope, catchment size and topography, river planform geometry, and upstream woody vegetation cover.
