Version 3.0.8

Released: Aug 30, 2017

Version 3.0 adds Monte Carlo simulation, moving average and Julian dates to TSA.

Installation notes: this version requires the .Net framework 4.0 available using Microsoft .net 4.0 web Installer. If you have trouble using the web installer you can download the .net 4.0 stand alone installer.

What is new in version 3.0:
Version 3.0.8: In the TSM, the change time step bases the new series start on the start date of the input series – e.g. when changing to annual – it used to make these calendar years, even if your input series didn’t start on 1st of January – in 3.08, if your input time series starts on say 1 July, then the output time series will also start on 1 July.
Version 3.0.7: Fixed spell analysis: time between spells routine was changed in previous version, it has now been reverted to return the correct result.
Version 3.0.6: TSA now has an option to create a log file with analysis details.
Version 3.0.5: Updated partial flood frequency for proportional flood peak drop.
Version 3.0.4: fixed an issue in TSM where the 1st hour of the day was ignored for time series aggregation.
Fixed a reporting issue in TSA where interannual mean returned NaN when one or more NaN values were present.
Version 3.0.3: removed old references to the .net framework 3.5 so that RAP only requires .NET 4 to be installed
Version 3.0.2: added most recent eWater licence.
Version 3.0.1: includes eWater logo.
Vestion 3.0.0: removed expiry date. Added Monte Carlo simulation, moving average and Julian dates to TSA.

Changes in this version

TSA module

This release addresses a seasonal computation issue where null data was returned instead of the correct value (in particular for high/low flow spell calclulation).

Version 1.2.0

Released: Nov 19, 2004

Version 1.1.0 does not have the ability analysi multiple time periods

Version Version 1.1.1

Released: Aug 5, 2004

TSA The ability to consider multiple time periods of an input time series has been activated. An additional parameter of 'minimum spell length' has been added to the high and low spell analysis HA No change

Version 1.1.0

Released: Jul 29, 2004

Major changes to RAP Times Series Analysis, and relatively minor changes to RAP Hydraulic Analysis. Changes are listed firstly as common features across RAP, then as they relate to the form associated with each tree-view node.

Bug Fixes:
Interface Bugs Fixed in this Release
  • You can save data directly from any view control by right clicking
  • View Control no longer continue to add time series if clicked after a successful drag and drop.
  • The computational speed of TSA has been increased by around a factor of 4 by rationalising the code base.
  • Save added to all view controls
  • Reference to ?flow? removed from TSA to reflect the broad application of time series analysis
  • Time series load function fixed to provide correct time series labels for files of multiple time series files.
  • Input file name is now displayed if it has been loaded using the file open button (drag and drop files and files from other applications do not have a file path to display, hence they are not listed)
  • Error message about time ?series not having overlapping periods has been fixed.
  • Reporting period on status bar updates when users leave the reporting period page
  • Reporting period does not reset when coming back to the reporting period section
  • A check has been added to the season order ? click the check button to make sure seasons are acceptable
  • Limit of 3 decimical places to output (this will be changed in the future to allow users to enter their desired precision)
  • Interface for spell analysis has been updated to catch incorrect data entry
  • Interface bugs fixed so that changed values are reported to the screen
  • Now a view control legend ? but poor
  • View control now fills the page
Numerical Bugs Fixed in this Release
  • Single day spells are now counted correclty
  • Baseflow calculation was out by one day ? now corrected
  • Variability metric corrected from Median/Range tong it as Range/Median
  • Seasons now plot in correct order
Feature Requests Implemented in this Release
  • There is a ?are you sure you want to close?? dialog box on TSA.
  • Find water year start function has been added. The water year start can be user defined, defined as the month with lowest mean daily discharge or month with highest mean daily discharge.
  • A major additional feature is now included in the reporting period ? the ability to analyse multiple time periods from one file. Up to 6 time periods can be defined.
  • User Defined percentile values added
  • Total for period added
  • Spell threshold now printed to output
  • Metadata now included in output
  • Can now save data from view control

Version 1.0.2

Released: Mar 24, 2004

Changes
RAP TSA
  • Interface:- water year start display changed
  • statistics for each season previously only functioned for general statistics, now this works for all statistics
  • Flood frequency, under predicting flood magnitude due to count error.
RAP HA
  • Add "Shear stress" as a rule to the hydraulic rule engine (note this is a very coarse approximation of Shear stress (ro*g*R*S) where S is the average of the water surface slope between up and downstream cross-sections.)
  • Select all button added to cross-sections.

Version 1.0.1

Released: Feb 6, 2004

Changes:

Hydraulic Analysis module
  • connected buttons that did not previously link including updating the menu
  • now able to load survey data from the survey data page
  • now able to save output time series and export it to TSA module
Time Series Analysis module
  • Incomplete periods of record displayed in the output with the result = 0, this confusion has been removed from the output with incomplete records excluded from the analysis and output
  • For some analysis periods, TSA was counting from the second day of the record, now fixed.
  • General statistics items have been verified by longhand calculations - corrections in Lanes index, and standard deviation of Log flows
  • High flow spell analysis has been verified by longhand calculation - corrections to the calculation of threshold.  error occurred for short time periods because the threshold was based on the short period being input rather the entire input period.
  • Low flow spell verified by longhand calculation
  • Rates of rise and fall verified by longhand calculation
  • Baseflow time series can now be plotted
  • The alpha value for baseflow can be changed by the user
  • Data on any chart can now be saved by right clicking
  • Output data table results can now be saved
  • Advanced analysis options have been reviewed, users can now produce summaries for seasons and months.
  • A "stop" analysis button has been added to allow users to abort a run.
  • The help file has been updated

Version 1.0.1b

Released: Nov 11, 2003

Beta Version
Changes:
  • provide user feedback on some button clicks
  • change the output for the  flood flow index calculation (previous flood flow index was the ration between flood flow and baseflow, now changed to be the ratio between flood flow and total flow).

Version 1.0.0b

Released: Nov 9, 2003

Beta Version
The first release of the public Beta version of RAP.
