The original survey data was collected by the following agencies:

Where these agencies contracted out the surveying work to a contractor or other agency, and information about that agency is available, it is listed in the meta-data table included with this database.

The data was initially solicited from the agencies and collated into a database by Susan Hayes. Some scanned cross-section survey sheets were digitised by Jill Glover.

The cross-section data was converted into MATLAB and subsequently to the final form by Ciaran Harman, who also created the MATLAB code to perform the modelling.
